News & Events: What would it take to change the World The theme for this year’s Access All Areas worship. AAA happens on the first Sunday of each month, starting at 10.30am and lasting no longer than 45 mins. Each month we look at different things from a Christian perspective. In January we shall be thinking about Change itself. Next month, the subject is Courage. Come and join us and find out what else it will take to change the World! Another January event is Soul Cafe on 11 January at 6.30pm. This is our occasional cafe style Sunday evening with music, poetry and pictures in an informal cafe setting. Come and relax with a drink and maybe some cake. Why not bring a friend too! News & Events: Step into the Light this Christmas Light… At this time of year most of us would welcome a lot more of it. For many people the shortened days lend a gloom to life itself. There is a medical condition known as Seasonal Affective Disorder, SAD for short (honestly!), caused by too little light. Many of us will be decorating our homes with lights hung on trees, draped round windows, and some people have spectacular outdoor displays. There may be candles on tables, whether for illumination or romance. The custom of using extra lights at this time of year is closely connected with the Christmas story, and of Jesus’ claim to be “the Light of the World.” We use them to celebrate the coming of light into our darkness, of hope into our uncertainty or fears. However unconsciously, they serve as reminders of all that Jesus came to be for each of us. We would love to welcome you to any of the special celebrations over the Christmas period – or at any of our regular services during the rest of the year. All are welcome to come and join the celebration. 28 Dec 10.30am Continuing Christmas Worship at Newmount.
